One of the questions that I get most about being a nurse and a lawyer is what did it take to get here. Honestly, the educational journey to becoming a nurse and a lawyer was easy. Find a program, apply, receive your admission letter, and then matriculate. The hard part is reconciling your identity, trying to find your voice, and figuring out how to find your place in the world.I always knew that I wanted to become a nurse, so when I applied to Howard I immediately enrolled in the nursing program. That journey took me five years, but the time, experience, and education were well worth the commitment.

The decision to become a lawyer came after working in healthcare for three years and deciding that I wanted to focus on preventative policy that would save the lives before they ended up in the hospital. The desire to combine my nursing and the legal journey has been murky and difficult, to say the least, but I have finally found my place and I am so happy.

I wish this joy on everyone I know, but note that the journey may be unclear for a long time until it suddenly clears up and feels like home. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me.
